Only people who sign the PNFN Member Declaration are on the PNFN Member Register. Signing does not change your status card or your band today. It takes about 5 minutes. Fill in your details, read the Declaration, sign with your finger or mouse, and press Submit. You will get a copy by email.
PNFN MEMBER DECLARATION
Please read this carefully. By signing below, I declare that:
I am one of the People of Granville Lake. I am tied to this community by my family, by my birth, or by a real and lasting connection.
I believe the People of Granville Lake are a First Nation of our own. We are distinct from Mathias Colomb Cree Nation.
I support PNFN in asking Canada to recognize us as our own band, with our own reserve lands and our own territory.
I want to be a member of Pickerel Narrows First Nation. When Canada recognizes PNFN as a band, I intend to move my band membership to PNFN.
Until then, signing this does not change my status card. It does not change my band today. It does not take away any benefit I get now.
Only people who sign this declaration are on the PNFN Member Register. Only people on the Register can vote in PNFN elections, run for PNFN office, or take part in PNFN decisions.
I do not have to sign. If I want to stay with my band, that is my right. My name will then not be on the PNFN Member Register.
I can take my name off the Register at any time. I only need to tell PNFN in writing.
What I have said here is true.
Your name and date of birth above, your signature below, and the date you press Submit (recorded automatically) complete this declaration.
